Kogi Commissioner’s killers demand N100 million as ransom for kidnapped LG Chair

The killers of a Kogi State Pension Board Commissioner, Adebayo Solomon and also the kidnappers of the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, Pius Kolawole on Saturday, are demanding the sum of N100 million as ransom before he can regain freedom.

According to a source who spoke with Daily Trust, the kidnappers put a call through to the secretary of the local government late Sunday as well as one of the family members of the chairman to demand the ransom.

Although they were said to have promised to call in the early hours of Monday to continue with the terms of negotiation, but are yet to do so as at press time.

The source said that the kidnappers had also contacted the Kogi State Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Mr Taofik Isah, who doubled as the Chairman of Ijumu Council Area of the need to hasten the negotiation.

Daily Trust learnt that the family, council area and ALGON had agreed that the ALGON Chairman should continue with the negotiation.
