Yobe to improve Radio Station signal

As part of post insurgency drive in enlightening, educating and entertaining the state citizens on the importance of peaceful coexistence, Yobe State government has vowed to digitalize and improve the signal strength of the Yobe Broadcasting Corporation (YBC), Damaturu to reach all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Abdullahi Bego, Commissioner Yobe State Ministry of Home Affairs Information and Culture revealed today at the NUJ Secretariat, Damaturu during the opening of the first ministerial briefing to mark the second anniversary of Governor Mai Mala Buni.

The briefing is titled ‘promoting accountability and good governance’.

He explained that the radio signal strength currently terminates at Dapchi axis but will be improved to reach all the northern part of the state such as Machina, Nguru, Karasuwa, Yunusari, Yusufari and Geidam local government areas.

Bego added that Governor Mai Mala Buni has already given approval for the procurement of all the necessary equipments “they will be installed by the end of this year.

Let me use this opportunity to thank His Excellency for the continued support and cooperation to our Ministry in ensuring that the state citizens are better informed”.

The Commissioner also said that Governor Mai Mala Buni has since embarked on the renovation and upgrade of the State owned Radio and Television to improve services.
