As part of efforts to ensure active participation of youths in governance and decision making across all levels of government, The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in partnership with the youth support group (YSG) has awarded 23 legends (2L) for their contribution to grassroots politics.
The awardees who are members of ward E Baruwa under Alimosho federal constituency, Lagos state have distinguished themselves in bringing development to the grassroots.
The spokesperson for the group Prince Babatunde Kolawole, in a telephone chat with Neptune Prime, disclosed the award was given after a careful analysis of party activities and active members from Baruwa ward over the space of three years (2014-17).
Prince Kolawole who expects the production of ‘2L’ to promotes healthy rivalry between youths and old, wants more attention to be brought to the people at the grassroots level.
The spokesman who also campaign for more publicity of this initiative said that is another way of redirecting youth restiveness towards productive endeavours while fostering unity between members.
Among the awards to be given are President Muhammed Buhari Qualitative Leadership Award, Asiwaju BAT Legendary Award, Hon. Mai Bala Buni Grand Leadership Award amongst many other awards.
