26-year-old serial housebreaker in Ondo State arrested for stealing 26 generators

A 26-year-old man Opeyemi Tosin said to be a serial housebreaker has been arrested for reportedly stealing no fewer than 26 generators in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

Opeyemi was nabbed alongside two accomplices, one ThankGod James, 22 and Sodiq Segun, 23 who were accused of allegedly aiding Ope in the sales of the stolen generators.

Tosin confessed to the crime at the state’s police headquarters, and stated that he began the generator theft 5 months ago.

Sharing how he operates, Ope, who also happens to be a drycleaner, revealed that he first surveys the environment before going back to carry out the crime. He went on to share that his two accomplices were generator repairers who look for buyers for the stolen generators.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Bolaji Salami who also commented on the arrest of the suspect he described as a serial housebreaker, revealed that 26 generators were recovered from those the suspect he had sold them to.
