Bandits have reportedly abducted some students at Federal Government Girls College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State.
The bandits went away with several students out of the school, though the exact number of girls taken isn’t yet known, it has however been reported that at least 30 students and three teachers were abducted, according to security sources.
The attackers, who rode on motorcycles were said to have stormed the school from the neighbouring Rijau forest.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity narrated ‘’They pointed a gun at the school guards and asked them for the girls’ hostels. Before you know what was happening, the bandits invaded the school and started abducting female students’’.
This is the third known attack on a school in the country in the last three weeks.
On May 30, pupils were abducted from an Islamic School in Tegina, Niger State.
Two weeks later, bandits abducted staff and students at Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Kaduna State.
