Story from Shafa’atu DAUDA, Kano

As Sultan of Sokoto graces occasion congratulates Emir on behalf of all traditional rulers.

In his unrelenting effort to further re-consolidate the efficacy of Rano Emirate, after the demise of the late Emir Alhaji Tafida Abubakar II (Autan Bawo), Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has administered Staff of Office to the newly appointed Emir Ambassador Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, at AA Rano Stadium, Rano, Saturday.

By way of ensuring the firmness of the Emirate, along with the other Emirates of Gaya, Karaye and Bichi, created alongside Rano Emirate, he challenged that, “Those saying when they came back to steer the affairs of the state, they would dismantle all the new Emirates, they should know that, these Emirates are on a solid foundation.

I will also not say anything apart from praying to Almighty Allah not to even give them that chance of coming back to captain the affairs of the state. Not to talk of achieving their anti-people intention.”

“We are thanking His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto for coming to grace the occasion. This shows your good concern for the development of our dear state. And that of our traditional institutions in particular.

So also all other Royal Fathers, our respected Emirs, who came from different locations of the country, to also bless our occasion. We thank all those who came from far and wide places,” governor Ganduje appreciated.

He reiterated his reasons for the creation of new Emirates in the state, reminding that, “As I have been saying on many occasions, we created the new First Class Emirates in Kano because of three major reasons.

First and foremost, because of historical reasons. Secondly, because of people’s quest for it and thirdly because we have resolved to expand the role of our traditional institutions in the development of the state.”

His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad II commended the gathering and was happy for their ability to attend the ceremony, adding that, “We are grateful to Allah for giving us this chance to be here. We are happy that we are here to congratulate one of our own.”

Revealing that, “I am, on behalf of all traditional rulers, congratulating the new Emir of Rano. We also pray for Allah to give him all the necessary support to discharge his duty diligently. And we should all endeavour to discharge our responsibility with the fear of Almighty Allah.”

The newly coronated Emir, Ambassador Inuwa, thanked the governor for making it possible, the return of Rano Emirate in the midst of other Emirates, acknowledging that, “We are commending His Excellency, the Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who, along with our Honourable members of the Kano State House of Assembly, worked together to bring back our glory.

We are equally thanking His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, for being here himself to grace this historic occasion. We are thankful to him for according us the pride that deserves the Emirate. We are thankful to our Royal Fathers who came from different locations in this country.

We are very thankful to members of the National Assembly and State Assembly who are here for us. We equally thank all those from the business community, our friends who are here with us and those who came from other places.

In a soft-laden voice, he said to his people “I was chosen from among you, not because I am better than you. If I obey Allah’s Path, obey me, if I erred call my attention to what is better. May Allah continue to protect our fatherland against any form of violence, poverty and all other bad things.
