Story from Kenneth AFOR, Lagos

The popular Agboju market along 2nd Avenue Festac Town is currently under demolition by authorities from the Lagos State Government.

The market and other makeshift shops such as kiosks, food canteens, church buildings, car dealer spaces and from 1st Gate through 3rd Gate Alakija Bus stop were affected.

According to a source who spoke to Neptune Prime on Sunday morning, two bulldozers arrived the area as early as 5:30am and started clamping down on the structures.

Although it is yet unknown why the area is being demolished and taking people’s means of livelihood.

However, an officer of the Lagos Task Force told Neptune Prime that traders and shop owners were given two weeks notice before the demolition.

Traders were seen gathering their goods and valuables before the bulldozers get to their shops.

Efforts to reach authorities of the Amuwo-odofin Local Government Area proved abortive as at the time of this report.
