Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has called on Nigerians to seek God’s intervention in line with the current crisis overwhelming the nation.

He urged every Nigerian to steadfastly turn to God in prayers for the betterment of the country.

The former President made this known at the 16th edition of virtual Prayer Breakfast with Olusegun Obasanjo, who is the Asiwaju Onigbagbo, Ogun state.

Which was organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun state chapter to honor the former president.

Obasanjo said the challenges facing the nation are enormous, such that the only solution can only come from the Almighty.

He said “We seem to have been overwhelmed with the crises in our land, that is why we are here.

“We have some challenges. These are beyond what we can handle. we have to cry to God.”

According to him, both the government and the governed had so far been overwhelmed by the challenges Nigeria is facing, hence the need to cry out loud to God for a lasting solution.

He added “Our land needs to be healed. We have been overwhelmed, those in government, executive, legislators, public servant, civil servant, private sector, we are overwhelmed.

“God cannot be overwhelmed. He is omnipotent, omnipresent. I believe God will heal our land that is the reason we are here.’’

In his short sermon, Archbishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province (Anglican Communion), Archbishop Michael Fape, said these are really difficult times for the nation as a whole.

Fape in a message tagged “God’s approved way for solution to the problem of Nigeria”, declared that things have fallen apart in the country and the Centre cannot hold. He, therefore, admonishes all Nigerians to humble themselves and turn away from wicked ways. So, God can listen and heal the land.

The man of God said “We steal, we embezzle the resources that should be used for the public. Nigeria is in dire need of divine intervention. We should humble ourselves, repent our sins and turn away from our wicked ways.”
