The Special Adviser to Kano State Governor on Religious Affairs, Alhaji Ali Baba Fagge recently declared that he will never betray Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje because of his humility and good sense of judgment.

The Islamic Cleric who served former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the same capacity revealed to Neptune Prime’s correspondent, Saleh Inuwa why he decided to part ways with the former Governor, who later represented Kano Central in the Senate, even though he worked hard for Kwankwaso to be re-elected as Governor for Second Term in 2011.

Even as far back as 2012, the controversial cleric had wanted to resign from the Kwankwaso’s government because apart from his salary and allowances nothing was coming to his office and on the other hand, people were putting pressure on him to give them money which he does not have.

“But let me put it on record all these were not the reason I had wanted to dump Kwankwaso’s government by then. Far from that the man offended me and am finding it difficult to overcome what he did to me”.

Ali Baba Fagge continued that when his mother fell sick and wanted immediate medical treatment abroad, he wrote the Governor then soliciting for assistance but Kwankwaso only referred the letter to the Commissioner for Health then for his comment and the memo later got lost in transit.

After waiting endlessly, he decided to complain to Ganduje who was then the Deputy Governor to Kwankwaso. One night around 9 pm Ganduje’s wife Dr. Hafsat Ganduje visited his house and gave him the money to send his mother abroad for treatment, the money came from Ganduje’s pocket.

“My mother recovered and returned to the country but after 1 year and some months, she died. Ganduje who was then in Port-Harcourt rushed back to Kano to sympathize with me and my family, former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau also visited me and prayed for my mother”.

According to him, up to the time of this report, Kwankwaso did not call to sympathize with him or even to say he was told Ali Baba lost his mother. As such he has decided to dump his red cap, dump Kwankwaso and pledge his loyalty to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje whom he described as religious, humane and a complete gentleman.

“That is why left to me I want the alleged ongoing peace meeting between Ganduje and Kwankwaso group to collapse, because Kwankwaso has presidential ambition and he needs Ganduje to deliver Kano votes to him. We will not dance to his tune this time around let him continue to fight us and see who will lose, he noted”.
