Taxi drivers in Abuja protest over illegal VIO charges

Tension at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, on Monday as taxi drivers protest in the Federal Capital Territory over the activities of the Vehicle Inspection Office, VIO.

The protesters claimed that the officials of the VIO have allegedly continued to harass and collect illegal levies from them.

Report gathered that Union leaders are preventing taxi drivers from operating by stopping their vehicles and telling their passengers to alight.

Details of the incident are still sketchy as of press time.
