Nigeria’s current Ambassador to Benin Republic and former Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai recently met with President Patrice Talon of Benin Republic.

It was gathered that Buratai met with the Beninese President to present his letter of credence to him, the meeting is however coming amid the arrest of self-styled Yoruba leader, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho in the neighboring country.

President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Buratai as Nigeria’s envoy to the Benin Republic.

Recall that Igboho was arrested in Cotonou, capital of Benin Republic, while trying to escape to Germany after his residence was raided by Department of State Services (DSS) operatives who subsequently declared him wanted.
