Katagum residents in Bauchi hail Malaysian based foundation for charity during Sallah

Leaders and residents of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State have commended a Malaysian based foundation known as ‘Yayasan Budi Ihsan’ for providing support to them during the recent Sallah festival.

Speaking with our correspondent Thursday, the residents said the assistance given by the organisation included hundreds of rams and goats that were distributed to over 1,000 people in the area.

One of the beneficiaries, Abubakar Alhassan said that the beneficiaries were widows and very poor people, noting that the gesture had helped them to celebrate Sallah with comfort like other well-to-do Muslims.

Another beneficiary, Sani Usman said the gesture had put smiles on their faces and other less privileged in the area at the season.

Also, some of the community leaders in the local government commended the organisation for the gesture saying that it had gone a long way in giving succour to the needy.

On his part, representative of the foundation in Katagum local government area and chairman of the distribution committee, Dr Badamasi Imam Ya’u, explained that 4,000 cows and 2,000 goats were slaughtered by the foundation and shared to the needy in Abuja, Borno, Bauchi, Taraba, Gombe, Kaduna, Kwara, Osun, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos states this year.
