Yobe State Governor, Honourable Mai Mala Buni has commiserated with the people of Jakusko Local Government Area over the unfortunate flood that consumed some communities.
This was contained in a press release signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni.
Governor Buni directed the State Ministry of Health and State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide emergency support to Girgir and Jakusko while an investigation on the suspected case of cholera is conducted.

Similarly, the Governor directed SEMA to provide the flood victims with relief materials for their immediate needs to cushion their hardships and compile a comprehensive report on the destructions and the assistance required.
He urged the people to support the victims who lost their houses and farmlands to the floods, “we should be our brother’s keepers and to complement government efforts to make the victims comfortable.”
Buni appealed to the affected and other communities to vacate waterways to ensure the free flow of rainwater.
The Governor further directed the State Environmental Sanitation Agency, to ensure that drainages and other waterways are evacuated.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the state and nation a safe, rewarding and fruitful harvest season.
