Fandi Abdulrahman is a slim and pretty 23-year-old lady from Niger Republic who came to Nigeria a few years ago to pursue a career in Kannywood. So far she has successfully featured in films like Hakki, Wuta a Makera, Shuwa, Bala da Babiya, Izzatu, Farautar Rai, Mugun Jini, Karki Manta Dani and a host of others.
Initially, Fandi came to Kano after approval by her parents to come and set up shops and boutiques to be engaged in soft and hard wear. But actually, her intention was to be able to meet with some of the prominent directors in Kano so that she can pursue a career in acting. One day, she visited some artist on-location shooting a film called Hakki and instantly she was incorporated into the film but since then, she was not able to secure a role in other films, then she decided to produce her own film called Izzatu using her own money and this has opened several opportunities for her and today, she is one of the young leading actresses in Kano.

EXCERPTS OF THE INTERVIEW
Neptune Prime: Is it true that you are from Niger Republic?
Fandi: Yes, my name is Fandi Abdulrahman and I am 23-years-old. I am from Niger Republic, I came to Nigeria to pursue a career in acting and today, I successfully featured in more than 10 films with Izzatu as my own film which I produced with my money.
NP: Most ladies coming to Kannywood either from Nigeria or neighbouring states have one reason or the other to tell about their marriage experience, what is your experience like?
Fandi: I cannot answer this question properly because I am not a divorcee, I mean I never married before. I am slightly over 23 and I have a very strong desire to be an actress and be successful for that matter. That is why I decided to come to Nigeria to try my luck, today, I am fast heading towards stardom, the sky I can tell you is my limit.
NP: You use your own money to produce Izzatu, why?
Fandi: After featuring in the film Hakki, I was not given an immediate film to work on, and I don’t want to be forgotten, so I use my money to produce the film Izzatu so that I will remain relevant in the industry. Today, I am proud to be referred to as actress and producer and I am working on many scripts to produce more films that will make me popular and a celebrity.
NP: In Kannywood, beautiful girls like you are subjected to sexual harassment and other forms of sexual abuse, tell us your story?
Fandi: I came to Nigeria fully prepared. I mean I came with my money to be a producer or engaged in other businesses before making it into acting. As such, nobody has approached me with the intention of asking me to compromise my body. I am still fresh and I will not allow any producer or director to take advantage of me because I want to be an actress. I have my own money to be on my own. Similarly, I noticed that most of the members of the industry are highly decent, nobody has shown me an iota of indecency after all. I am very beautiful and my face can fetch a fortune for producers so the sky is my limit.
