The 2021/22 Premier League season promises to be an exciting campaign.

Manchester City will be looking to Defend their title, but will face strong competition from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s side finished last season in third place, battling back from an unfavourable position to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds will be boosted by the return of supporters back inside Anfield by the time the new season gets underway, though fans may be hoping to see a few more arrivals by the time they return to the stadium.

Mirror Sport have rounded up the latest Liverpool transfer rumours…

Mbappe urged to join Liverpool

Kylian Mbappe has been told that Liverpool would be the “best fit” for his career.

The French forward is yet to agree a new deal at PSG and is out of contract at the Ligue 1 club next summer.

Plenty of clubs would be interested in signing Mbappe, but former Arsenal midfielder and France international Emmanuel Petit believes Anfield would be a suitable next destination for the 22-year-old.

“There are few clubs in the world that can afford to pay his wages so it’s possible that if he did leave he would come to the Premier League, he toldGoal.

“The best fit for him might be Liverpool.”

“Kylian has a year left on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and he still hasn’t signed a new deal. It appears he’s had some arguments with Leonardo, the sporting director,” Petit added.

“But he has huge ambitions, he wants to reach so many targets in football.”

Barcelona ready to rival Liverpool for Saul

Barcelona are reportedly looking to hijack Liverpool ’s move for Saul Niguez this summer.

The Reds have been strongly linked with the Atletico Madrid midfielder in recent weeks as they look to find a Gini Wijnaldum replacement.

But Liverpool aren’t the only ones interested in striking a deal, with Ronald Koeman’s side also weighing up a bid.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga giants are willing to throw in former Atletico star Antoine Griezmann as part of a deal.

Reds learn McGinn asking price

Aston Villa will demand between £45m-£50m for the services of John McGinn this summer.

The Scottish midfielder showcased his ability in the Premier League last season and could be a potential option should the Reds fail in their pursuit of Saul.

But Liverpool will have to pay a considerable fee to sign the 26-year-old, whose current deal runs until 2025.

Luke Hatfield, sports journalist at the Express and Star, has informed This is Futbol that £45-50 million is the price Villa will demand should any sides register interest.
