Place APC above personal interest – Sen Al-Makura

Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has called on members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to put the interest of the party above personal interest.

The Senator representing Nasarawa South in the Senate stated this while addressing newsmen at the end of the enlarged stakeholders meeting in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.

According to him, ” I am calling on aspirants to consider the strength and unity of the party above every other interest and be deposed to dialogues and consensus to achieve peace and success during the congresses.

One of the stakeholders and the immediate past chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Aminu Muazu Maifata said that they have adopted internal mechanisms to ensure the peaceful emergence of leaders in the forthcoming Ward and Local Government Congresses of the party in the state.

The stakeholders agreed that they would campaign by highlighting the legacies of the party compared to others to woo voters from the electorates.

They also call on their followers to avoid any activities that may cause the breakdown of law and order towards the development of Nigeria and democracy.

The highpoint of the meeting was a selection of ten persons from the five local government areas that make up the Nasarawa South Senatorial District of Nasarawa State to oversee the conduct of the congresses in the zone.
