Veteran Nollywood actress, Rachel Oniga has died at the age of 64.
She reportedly passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, after a brief illness.
Her son Olatunji, who confirmed the report to newsmen said his mother died on Friday night around 10 pm.
“She passed last night around 10 pm. She had malaria and typhoid,”.
Bimbo Oshin, also a notable name in the movie industry, posted the news on her Instagram page.
“Heaven has just gained another beautiful soul. Aunty Racheal. Ha!” she wrote.
Samklef, a music artiste, also posted about the death of the actress but did not go into details.
Born on May 23, 1957; the delectable actress began her career in 1993. Her first movie was the blockbuster, Onome, while her debut movie in the Yoruba speaking sector of the film industry was Owo Blow.
In the span of her career, which was about 27 years, the multiple award-winning actress featured in movies like The Wedding Party, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, 30 Days in Atlanta, Sango, Out of Bounds, among others.
