Two Years In Office: Yobe indigenes list infrastructural achievements of Senator Bomoi

Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi of Yobe South senatorial district has received praises and accolades for his giant strides in infrastructural development in the four local government areas of his constituency.

The Senator, who recently celebrated two years in office, has facilitated numerous projects with indigenes reaping the dividends of democracy.

Speaking on the performance of the senator, a concerned citizen and All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Mohammed Maishayi said, “a major factor which will ensure the return of most politicians in elective positions is how much of development they had brought to their respective constituencies”.

He stated that the people of Yobe South senatorial district have every cause to be grateful to God and Senator Bomai for his quality, representation of his people at the national assembly.

Among the achievements listed is the construction of Tsalle Biyu-Gadan Talakawa leading to Nangere road within Potiskum Town, construction of Jujin OC street leading to Layin Musa Lawan, Misau road leading to Tandari, Yan kuka street, the repair of Mamman Ali graveyard road.

The senator also ensured the repair of Emir’s Palace road with Solar street lights installed in strategic locations across the town to assist the security agencies in the night patrol against criminals.

Bent on improving lives, Bomai facilitated 900 Women to access credit facilities under MEES scheme. Distribution of 14,000 bags of grains, empowered 44 youths currently receiving monthly payments and distributed fleet of cars to his supporters.

People of Fune Local Government Area with headquarters at Damagum also benefited from the construction of ICT centre to enhance the learning of new technologies and the installation of solar street lights in Mel Biyar community.

Another politician, Hajiya Hauwa Baturiya also gave kudos to the Senator, admitting that “the Senator has effectively utilized his presence at the Senate to bring benefits of democracy to the people of the zone”.

She added that the Senator had in Nangere Local Government Area constructed a maternity clinic and solar street lights in some communities to enhance the security and safety of the people. “Garin Darin was connected to National grid, this is a landmark achievement being enjoyed by the community”.

Abubakar MB Tamana, resident of Potiskum, who is also a legislative aide to the senator said that ”Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi recently mobilized and facilitated the commencement of an important water reticulation project in Potiskum town through the replacement of the age-long broken asbestos cement pipes with the newly innovated polythene pipes, in fulfilment of the Senator’s mandate of complementing the efforts of Governor Mai Mala Buni improving water availability in the areas of Army barracks, Tudun Wada, Gabar da Kasuwa, CAMTECH, Part of Dogo Nini, Dogo Tebo, old prison road, laying Lamba sabo.

Other places to benefit also are Alkali Kalli street, unguwan Jaji, hayin Gada, kwata, Afghanistan, higher Islamic school area, state low-cost, signal barrack, layin Damboa and kasuwan NPN”.

Provided two sanitary facilities at GGSS Gadaka In Fika Local Government Area, he commended the senator for setting up ICT centre at GSS Fika, constructed Maternity and Child Health Center in Kukar Gadu, facilitated the long-awaited water supply to Fika town has suffered serious water challenge for long due to its rocky terrain and environment, “regrettably, a project is conceived in the early nineties to channel potable water from river Ngeji to Fika and Gadaka but unfortunately the project did not see the light of the day, consequently in 2005 the project is awarded again but it’s execution also failed due to lack of funds or mare neglect”.

Also, in two years of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi’s representation, the long-abandoned Fika-Gadaka water project has been resuscitated”.

“The project involved connecting of water from river Ngeji which is about 30KMs away from the benefiting Communities, the water pumping station is equipped with Standard Diesel generator, Solar power equipments, and electric transformer as it’s source of power”.

“Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi is set to complete the project within the span of project duration, presently the contractor is laying pipes from the station to the benefiting Communities, we pray may Allah continue to guide and bless Distinguished for this remarkable gesture, we are ones more proud of him”.
