APC Congresses In Nasarawa: Senator Al-Makura commends process

The Senator representing Nasarawa South at the National Assembly, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has commended the APC stakeholders for initiating the consensus method that brought about peaceful congress in the state.

Senator Al-Makura also commended stakeholders of the party for their strict adherence to the guidelines of the party to ensure the peaceful conduct of the ward congresses.

According to a statement by the Senator’s spokesperson, Danjuma Joseph, he gave the commendation after participating in the exercise in his electoral ward, Gayam in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital on Sunday.

He said, “APC have some lessons to learn for future congresses and elections especially the adoption of consensus leaders through mutual agreement devoid of rancour and hard feelings among supporters of the party.

“I want to commend Governor Sule and the caretaker committees at both the state and the national levels, for adopting the consensus method, which in my opinion will save the party a lot of time and energy.”

He called on APC members and supporters to remain focused and behave maturely during and after the congresses to give the party a good name.

Earlier, while addressing the party delegates, the state secretary of APC Caretaker Committee, Aliyu Bello, said the consensus arrangements had saved the party a lot of troubles.

He said most of the leaders at the ward levels who had spent less than eight years in office could be reaffirmed through a consensus.
