APC Leadership: No alternative to Gov. Buni – Sen Bukar

The former governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has advised aggrieved politicians seeking the removal of the APC caretaker chairman and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, to crash the idea because there is no better alternative than the Governor who has done so much to reposition the party for greatness.

Senator Bukar gave the advice against the backdrop of the uproar generated by the Ondo state Supreme Court judgement and the moves to remove the Caretaker Committee Chair, Governor Mai Mala Buni pointing out it will not augur well for the progressive development of the governing party some people are trying to truncate the good work that has just been started for the benefit of all our teeming members and Nigerians.

Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim said “Apart from acceptability and credibility, there is no chieftain of the governing APC that can manage the crisis and complexities in the party like Buni. The search for new leadership is quite herculean. I want to urge all our good people to tread with caution so as not to return the party to wrong hands and erode the gains recorded so far”.

The former governor urged members of the APC to be wary of some political rabble-rousers whose stock in trade is to cause confusion and disunity in the party by “attempting to destroy the good work and the goodwill Governor Mai Mala Buni enjoys among the party faithful and teeming supporters” for their selfish interest.

He further noted that the era of internal wranglings and intraparty squabbles is giving way for unity and cohesion, even as he noted that the bottom-up approach in rebuilding and repositioning the party under the caretaker committee will give every member a sense of belonging.

“Those who think they can truncate the Buni led Caretaker Committee through erroneous legal opinions and interpretations will soon face the full sanction of the party. It is very disappointing and disturbing to see members interpreting the laws according to their whims and caprices and throwing the whole party into confusion during its congresses, he said.
