Ronald Koeman sent 10 youth players to Germany with the first team as part of Barcelona’s pre-season, and all of the youngsters had earned their place on the mini tour.
Koeman is giving these players more and more prominence as pre-season has progressed, and it’s clear to see that the Blaugrana have a promising future.
Five players in particular have impressed the Dutchman: Nico Gonzalez, Yusuf Demir, Gavi, Alejandro Balde and Rey Manaj.
Of those five, Nico, Demir and Gavi all have a serious chance of getting senior minutes throughout the course of the 2021/22 season.
Nico had already impressed the coach last term, and those within the club see a very talented midfielder within the 19-year-old.
He is seen as the natural replacement to Sergio Busquets with his measured passes, dictating of match tempo and impressive vision.
Manaj has been the top goalscorer of pre-season, netting four goals including a hat-trick against Nastic.
He, however, will not stay at the Camp Nou for the rest of the season, as he knows how difficult it will be to claim a space in the senior team in an attacking position. As such, the club are looking to loan out the 24-year-old.
