Hours after raiding the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Afaka, Kaduna State, on Tuesday morning, where two officers (a Major and a Squadron Leader) were killed and another Major, identified as Major Christopher Datong, taken, the armed bandits have contacted the authorities and demanded N200 million ransom for the release of the abducted Major, FIJ can report.
Neptune Prime reported that the bandits stormed the academy at about 1:00am killing two officers and took away Major Datong.
The deceased officers according to FIJ were identified as Lieutenant Commodore Wulah and Flight Lieutenant Okoronwo.
During the attack it was gathered that the gunmen operated for hours and left with ease. After they left, soldiers in the barracks made efforts to trail them but to no avail.

“They couldn’t kill even one of them,” an NDA source told to FIJ.
“They searched everywhere in the bush but couldn’t find them. They had fled away with their motorbikes.”
According to FIJ, the bandits contacted the defence academy to initiate negotiation on the payment of ransom before they release Datong.
“They have called to ask for N200million to free the Major,” the source also said.
“The attack was ridiculous. They came, teased us and left. Even the helicopter hovering in the bush could not track them.”
In a statement issued by Bashir Muhd Jajira, spokesman of the NDA in Kaduna, officers and men of the 1Division Nigerian Army with other security arms have commenced search operations to track the bandits and rescue the abducted personnel.
“During the unfortunate incident, we lost two personnel and one was abducted,” he said.
“The Academy, in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna State, has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescuing the abducted personnel.”
