Police in Lagos arrests 2 Aye Confraternity members with guns, 4 ATM cards, other dangerous items

Two suspected male members of the Aye Confraternity at the early hours of Monday, along Akowonjo Road in Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State have been arrested by operatives of Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

The suspects Samuel Akabueze 31 years old, of No.34, Valentine Obasi Street, Idimu Road, and Onuoha Joshua 37 years old of No. 52, Yusuf Street, Ipaja, both in Alimosho area of Lagos State are both from Imo State.

They were arrested for driving a Lexus jeep (LSD 666 GK), suspiciously along Akowonjo Road by the RRS operatives who trailed them to the point of arrest after suspecting them of underhand dealings.

Among the exhibits found on them include a locally made gun with two rounds of ammunition, four ATM cards, consisting of Eco & Access banks, charms, BRT cowry card, two different keys of another different Lexus SUV and a motorcycle.

It was discovered after an interrogation that they were found to be notorious criminals perpetrating series of robberies across different locations in Lagos.

They both confessed to being members of ‘Aye Confraternity’.

CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has transferred the two suspects to the Lagos State Command for discreet investigation in line with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu.
