Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano
The 14th Fulani Emir of Kano, his Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally revealed the reason why Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje removed him as Emir of Kano.
Lamido Sanusi who clocked 60 years on July 31st 2021, granted several interviews to the media where he explained the three main reasons responsible for his removal as the 14th Fulani Emir of Kano.
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who was the CBN Governor under Former President Jonathan before he was suspended for claiming that NNPC mismanaged the sum of $20 billion was appointed as the Emir of Kano by Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso when Late Dr Ado Bayero died at the age of 83.
During an interview with ThisDay Newspaper, he was quoted saying that he is not the type of person going by his antecedents and training to keep quiet when leaders are not doing the right thing.
But the advice he gave to Ganduje not to take a loan of $1.8 billion from China for the Rail Project really embarrassed the Government.
Then during the 2019 Governorship election in Kano, he called on INEC to be fair and declare whoever wins the election, this was misinterpreted to mean he was supporting PDP Candidate, “I also advocated for one man one wife if you are not rich.” He added.
Similarly, he said he has also been advocating the total abolition of the Almajiri System, we can’t give birth to children and dump them on the streets, all these attracted a lot of enemies for me and they use Ganduje to push me out, but I have no regrets because I believe it is destiny. He concluded.
