Yobe State Government through the State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) has today commenced the enrolment of vulnerable and poor citizens into the state government-funded Equity Programme.
The state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Muhammad Gana, disclosed this on Monday at the flag-off of the programme in Ngelzarma, Fune Local Government Area.
The Programme approved by the Governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni is set to benefit 32,930 32,930 poor and vulnerable beneficiaries targeting specifically Pregnant mothers and Children Under the age of five (5) across the state and with the sum of two hundred Million Naira (NGN200,000,000.00) made available by the government, the participant will enjoy free and qualitative healthcare care services under the first phase of the programme.

“Accident Victims in the state who are expected to be electronically enrolled across the 178 political wards through the focal PHCs. Enrolment will be conducted in phases commencing from today 16th August 2021”.
“Therefore, I hereby call on political and traditional leaders including the general public to continuously support this and all other laudable commitments and people-centred initiatives of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon Mai Mala Buni that are directly and positively impacting the poor and vulnerable citizens across the state.
Furthermore, I also urged philanthropic, political leaders and wealthy individuals in the state to donate to the Equity Programme of Yobe State Government through the State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency”
Earlier speaking, the Director ICT YSCHMA, Saleh Ibrahim explained that they are targeting vulnerable citizens, pregnant mothers and children under five years old.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (YSCHMA), Dr Babagana Tijjani added that they want every Yobe citizen to get the card free of charge across the 178 electoral wards of the state.
On his part, the Chairman of Fune Local Government Area, Babagoni Bade expressed gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni for the support and initiatives.
