Kaduna LG Election: APC wants PDP declared winner of Kachia polls to avert crises
A group under the auspices of “Kachia Concern APC members in Kachia local government area of Southern part of Kaduna State on Monday, charged Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) to declare Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Saturday 4th September 2021 election.
The aggrieved members, while fielding questions from newsmen in Kaduna, advised KADSIECOM to announce the Kachia Saturday results in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party to avoid crises in the area.

“For justice and fairness to thrive in our democracy under the leadership of Governor Nasir El-Rufai who conducted one of the transparent elections in the country, it would be for the interest of the masses for PDP to be declared winner”, the group said.
The KADSIECOM had declared the election inconclusive because PDP scored 24,482 while APC scored 23,270 and elections could not hold in some polling units due to malfunctioning of the Electronic Voting Machines, and the units cancelled have a total of 25,618 voters which is not only higher than the margin of the win but also higher than the votes scored by each of the political parties.
The aggrieved party members said it would be in the interest of Kachia if the Commission declares the PDP winner without necessarily going for the re-run of the election.
According to them, the party was divided into different camps by desperate power-mongers for their selfish interest which is tearing the party members apart; hence there was a need to declare the opposition winner of the council election for the Party stakeholders to learn their lessons.
The group further said, “We believe that this move will make the APC in Kachia fix their grievances to ensure that the party wins all the 2023 general elections in the area.”
According to reports, the Commission has fixed Saturday 25th September 2021 for a re-run in the local government.
