Armed robbers shoot POS operator, steal cash in Rivers
Armed robbers have killed a Point of Sales Operator (POS) in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, the victim was said to be a part-time student of the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic Bori (KENPOLY).

A source said the incident happened on Sunday evening, September 5, along GVC Road in the Aleto axis of Eleme, it was also gathered that the young man was about to close his business for the day before he was attacked by the robbers who eventually took his life.
A friend who took to his Facebook wall to mourn the deceased said the young man has always being a hard worker, who until his death had great determination to succeed in life. So it is so unfortunate to discover he lost his life while trying to raise money for his education.
An eyewitness said the robbers shot and killed the young man in his POS shop, after which they left with all his cash.
Over the years, operators of the Point of Sales (POS) have become endangered as they have increasingly become targets of armed robbers, who tend to attack them at will. Sadly in some cases, they are killed during the attack and their money being taken.
From Lagos to Ogun, Rivers, Edo, among other cities, the situation is increasingly becoming worrisome such that many of the POS operators have closed their kiosks while some have reduced the amount of cash they always keep which they use to provide much-needed services to their customers.
