Bauchi first lady signs MOU with UniMaid, Kadpoly on entrepreneurship (Photos)

Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Lami Bala Mohammed, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the University of Maiduguri and Kaduna Polytechnic on Entrepreneurship education.
With the signing of the MOU, AlMuhibba Institute, founded by the Bauchi First lady, indicated the institute is affiliated with the two institutions for the award of diploma, and postgraduate education.

Hajiya Aisha said “Education is the first priority for every human being. That’s how it is all over the world and even in the Qur’an. Everybody who wants to be wealthy or become a leader must become educated.”
She further explained that the institute was affiliated with the two famous institutions in a bid to foster the continuous development of entrepreneurship education amongst its students to equip them with skills and competencies to become future entrepreneurs.
She said the institutions are geared to build start-ups with creative and innovative ideas and propel entrepreneurship leveraging on ICT in Africa’s emerging market.
Aisha said that her institute was partnering with the university for the development and promotion of entrepreneurship and internship among the students to be exposed for practical skills acquisition methodologies.
“We recognised the intent of the university, and the Kaduna Polytechnic which are fully entrenched in entrepreneurship development, therefore, we felt the need to associate with them and add value in creating future entrepreneurs. Signing dis MOU with AlMuhibba Institute is a beginning to nurture the students for their future endeavours and promote entrepreneurship culture among the youth of Bauchi State and Nigeria.
In their separate remarks, the Vice Chancellor, University of Maiduguri, represented by Dr. Sheriff Umar and the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic who was represented by Dr. Nasiru Bello, head of Kaduna Polytechnic Consultancy Services, Dr. expressed appreciation on the official MoU signing ceremony and encouraged institute to ensure that the MoU remains active.
“For us, teaching entrepreneurship has been one of the core components in our entire curriculum because we want to train students to make a difference in their life skill through noledge, skills and value-based education.”
They pledged to monitor the activities of the institute closely to ensure that they are doing the right things, while also expressing satisfaction with the quality of teachers and learning and instructional materials that AlMuhibba Institute have which they described as excellent.
The occasion was witnessed by a representative from all the tertiary institutions in Bauchi State.
