Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested suspected internet fraudsters (Yahoo Boys) who in late August were seen in a viral video throwing naira notes in front of Kada cinema in Benin City, Edo State.
The suspects, who were captured in the video standing on top of their cars and splashing monies into the air were arrested on Sunday, September 12, during a similar mission at the same venue.
Although, the EFCC did not specifically identify them but said they were among the 31 internet fraudsters arrested at two separate locations in Benin City.
Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest were 13 exotic cars; Lexus ES 350, Lexus 350, Lexus RX 350, Lexus ES 350, Lexus RX 350, Lexus RX 350, Lexus IS 350, Toyota Venza, Mercedes C300, Mercedes ML350, Range Rover Evoque, GLK 350 4Matic and Toyota Camry, other items are laptop computers, phones, documents and identity cards.
