Former Emir of Kano becomes chancellor of Kaduna state university

Former Emir of Kano state, Alhaji Sunusi Lamido Sunusi has been named the chancellor of Kaduna State University by the Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai alongside some management staff of the Kaduna State University.

The ceremony which took place over the weekend, September 25th, was held during the timeline of the ongoing economic seminar on how to develop Kaduna and its economy.

The occasion was graced by the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, and other prominent citizens across the country.

The former Emir of Kano used the occasion to warn the federal government against the decision to sell NNPC, which gives Nigeria a substantial part of its revenue, and the massive foreign debt accumulated by the administration, revealing that it has the tendency of crippling the nation’s economy, the former monarch revealed that there is a huge need to rescue the country from economic collapse.

Similarly, the former CBN Governor scored the present administration low, in terms of development and management of scarce resources, indicating that the willingness of Kaduna State Government to always look inwards instead of depending on the federal government to roll its services is commendable.

Neptune Prime reports that the recent activities and growing profile of the former Emir of Kano, Sunusi Lamido Sunusi which is been promoted by Kaduna State Governor including building a palace for the former monarch and retaining all his former bodyguards, as well as allowing them to follow the Emir freely, is causing apprehension in the Kano Emirate.

Recently, Lamido Sunusi who is now the leader of the Tijjaniyya in Nigeria is on a tour of some of the important Emirates in the Northern part of the country, including Sultan of Sokoto emirate, that of Gwandu, and other important personalities across the country, sources said he is trying to smooth his paths with the populace against his case coming up November 30th in Abuja.
