The Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Army to restore permanent peace in the crises riding communities in Plateau State by employing the soldiers to sacrifice more in peacebuilding.

He said the incessant attacks and loss of lives and properties have to be stopped, we can’t allow criminal elements within us to continue to wreak havoc on our fellow Nigerians.

He assured the Plateau people and Nigeria at large that security is everyone business and he charged the Military to achieve incremental peace in the Nation.

General Lucky Irabor explained further that the attacks and killings in Plateau State and other parts of the country is unacceptable and we must act as professionals to remove bad eggs amongst us.

He said the Military will continue to serve the Nation with love, passion and true patriotism in order to achieve sustainable peace and security in Plateau State and the Nation at large which in turn will translate to economic prosperity.

He assured the citizens that his men will continue to display gallantry, professionalism and competence in discharging their duties to enhance greater peace and security.

He urged the public to expose criminal elements among them and contribute their quota to achieving lasting peace in the state.

He said: “An environment of chaos and hostility is inimical to economic growth and prosperity”.

“The whole essence of Operation Safe Haven here in Plateau State is to restore peace and we will achieve that”, he stressed.

He admonished the public to take measures that will ensure their safety, know their neighbours well, understand basic security tips and provide security information to the appropriate authorities.

He said the military will not relent in dealing decisively persons who are a threat to National security.

He called on journalists not to push false and unhealthy narratives that will not promote peace but use their journalistic prowess to sensitize persons who are ill-advised hinting that negative publicity has an adverse impact on peace and security.

He urged the journalists to put personal efforts to promote peace and not to allow it to escalate narratives that will build peace across the Nation.
