My marriage is broken, feature me in films – Kannywood’s Maryam Malika begs directors
Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano
Former Kannywood actress, Maryam Muhammed Malika has cried out to directors and film producers that they should feature her in their films because her marriage is broken and she wants to go back to the industry where she belongs.
The once famous actress in a statement to the press in Kaduna, noted that when she started acting, she came into the industry through Ali Nuhu, who had to visit her family in Kaduna and assure them that Maryam Malika will be an asset to Kannywood because of her wonderful acting skills; and she did not disappoint her fans.

Maryam Malika is the younger sister of late Balaraba Mohammed, who died in an accident in Kaduna the same day she got married to popular Kannywood actor, Shuaibu Lawan Kumurchi and was being conveyed to her husband’s house in Kano.
Maryam replaced her sister in Kannywood and became very successful before she got married in Kaduna to a son of a retired military general. She announced via social media that her marriage, which lasted about 7 years, had crashed and therefore, she would be returning to acting.
It would be recalled that she left the industry suddenly and unceremoniously, stepping on some very important toes when she was at her peak. These could be the reasons behind her woes as she is yet to be signed by any producer for a film.
