National Troupe hosts 8th edition of creative station for children in Bauchi

Towards reviving its children’s theatre arm, the National Troupe of Nigeria is holding its flagship Children’s Theatre for a development program for the first time in Bauchi state with the Theme “Unity in Diversity”.

Artistic Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Troupe of Nigeria Ahmed, Mohammed Ahmed said the program will harvest young talents in secondary schools in Bauchi state, towards creating more human capacity for Nigeria’s growing creative economy.

This edition will involve ten selected schools, five students from each of the schools. Pamela Udoka, the Director, Technical & Production services, NTN remarks that the Program will expose the children to the rudiments of Scriptwriting and drama, to discover, develop and Exhibit their Talents.

Commissioner of Education Bauchi state, Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde who declared the three days training open, urges the students to pay attention and ensure that the learning is internalised, represented by the Director Planning Aisha Aminu Ahmed, the commissioner assured that the ministry will provide support to ensure the success of the Program.

UNICEF chief of Office, Dr Tushar Rane encourage the students to utilize the opportunity by developing their stories and rewriting the narratives through TheatreThe workshop will last for three days after which the students will go back to their schools, develop their stories with the Theme Unity in Diversity.

The finale is expected to hold on the second of October.
