Senator Tela commends committee on successful conduct of PDP ward congress in Adamawa
Story from Emmanuel SAMUEL, Yola
The Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela, who also doubles as the Chairman of the five-man committee Adamawa State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ward congresses has described the ward congress as successful, free, and fair.
The elections which took place on Saturday across the 21 Local Government Area ( LGA) of Adamawa state were hitch-free.
The Deputy Governor made the disclosure in Yola South shortly after supervising the exercise in some wards of Girei, Yola North, and South LGA.

Senator Tela said the exercise was transparent and hitch-free as he expressed satisfaction in the way and manner the supporters of PDP conducted themselves during and after the exercise in the state.
He also described the turnout during the exercise as encouraging, giving it an 80 percent pass mark.
In another development, a statesman of the PDP in Adamawa state Dr. Umar Ardo claimed the boycott witnessed during the exercise was a result of the lawsuit filed by the suspended National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
Ardo told Neptune Prime correspondent over the phone that some party officials remained hesitant to participate because the court is yet to determine whether the embattled chairman of PDP will continue or not.
He said he and his group await the court verdict adding that his group sees the exercise held as an effort in futility.
While reacting to Dr. Ardo’s claims about the lawsuit filed by the suspended national chairman of the party, Tela said he was not aware of any court order stopping the congresses.
He, however, said PDP is a party that believes in the rule of law and would abide by any court pronouncement concerning the exercise.
However, the ward congresses of the PDP are supposed to be conducted in nine states across the country.
In the northeast, the exercise took place in Adamawa and Borno states only.
