The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Obasa Tanimola, disclosed this Thursday, in a statement made available to Neptune Prime in Jos.

The statement reads: “Citizens are encouraged to exercise their civic duties in accordance to the laid down rules and regulations guiding the elections as prescribed by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).

“Those who might have plans to disrupt this process by whatever means are by this statement warned to desist from such plans in their interest and that of the peace of the state as appropriate consequences shall be meted on anyone found wanting.

“The corps want to use this medium to reiterate its resolve and that of other security agencies toward safe guiding lives and properties of all law-abiding citizens and call on all political parties to caution their members and supporters against any action that could lead to the breakdown of laws and order in the state during and after the exercise.

“The general public is also urged to report any suspicious movement(s), person(s) or activities to the appropriate authority”.

Barunde cautioned perpetrators of election malpractice, box snatching and disruption of election process to decease from causing any trouble that is capable of breaching the peace of the state.

He employed the electorate to come out and vote for the candidates of their choice come Saturday “as we are going to set eagle eyes on all the polling units in Plateau”, Barunde said.
