Sources close to the Kaduna State government have revealed plans by the state government to ensure that non-indigenes are no longer allowed to operate Okada or Keke Napep in the state.
Sources disclosed that under the new arrangement which will take off very soon, Okada or Keke Napep operators in Kaduna State must show Tax Clearance, NIMC registration, Certificate of Indigene, two passport photographs and a signed letter by their respective ward head.
Similarly, if the new arrangement takes off, Keke Napep will be completely banned in the state, as the state government will liaise with NURTW Officials so that they will be given new brand vehicles on loan or hire purchase and distributed to their members.
At the time of filing this report, GSM Communication is still poor in the state and okada operations are yet to be restored, while Napep operators are allowed to move from 6 am to 7 pm, thereby making life very difficult for the people, and businesses are virtually collapsing, including massive inflation.
