Story from Sa’adatu MAINA, Damaturu

The Chairman of Coalition of Nigeria APC Youth Support Groups, Hon. Adamu Dahiru Lanzai has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) national body against allowing one of the ex-Governors to become Chairman of the party in the forthcoming National congress.

He revealed this in a statement made available to Newsmen on Saturday.

According to him “it is disastrous to hand over the affairs of our great party in the hands of any former Governor at this material time in Nigeria”.

The Coalition Chairman further disclosed that this advice is timely in view of the arrangements being made for the National Congress of the APC to allow ex-Governors become desperate to rule the APC at the national level hoping that the past era of Comrade Adams Oshimole where the leadership was dissolved to give way for peace would serve as a lesson to all APC stakeholders.

As a result of that culminated to the emergence of Governor Mai Mala Buni to act on the seat of the National Chairman.

Buni since then has been battling to restore the glory and dignity of the party”.

“Governor Mai Mala Buni has succeeded in attracting number of people from the opposition party into APC. We are against any move by some of the ex-Governors to frustrate the legacies of Governor Buni in APC”.

Lanzai further disclosed that “the past experiences of APC in the hands of Adams Oshiomhole should be a great lesson for everyone in the party to ensure that it was not repeated. We once again appeal to the party chieftains to know that in 2023 President Buhari is not contesting again, there’s need for more formidable party structure to win the election”.

“Within the APC we have capable hands to steer the affairs of the party effectively and succeed in the 2023 general elections”.
