BREAKING: Libyan Gov’t cracks down on illegal migrants, Nigerians call for immediate help (photos+videos)

The Libyan government on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in an abrupt manner began a crackdown on illegal migrants including Nigerians and foreigners in the country.

The raid started on Thursday evening in some areas in the country’s capital, Tripoli, where the Libyan security forces have so far captured about 4,000 migrants including Nigerians.

According to a Nigerian in Libya who chatted with our reporter this morning via WhatsApp, the raid has entered its third day. So far, Nigerians in Tripoli with their children have been taken to prison.

In a voice note sent by our source, the security forces will be at Deerebi, Sujuma and Sharadarsh to carry out ferocious raids later in the day asking Nigerians in these areas to vacate the places. Places that have been raided by the security forces include Guruji, SharaAshra, Aislamin, Sharakolowat and the De garage.

The source is, however, calling on the Nigerian government to come to their rescue for urgent evacuation before things get worse.

“Help us before it gets out of hand, because people that were arrested will be in prison with little children, if there’s a way to move us out of the country,” the source said.

According to the source, Mr Hassan Peppe, Special Assistant, on Social Media to Governor of Yobe State, has been contacted but he is yet to respond as at the time of this report.

“I dropped a message to the Special Assistant,on Social media to His Excellency, the Governor of Yobe State, Mr, Hassan Peppe who, through he read my message, has not given any response,” the source said.

In some of the videos sent, houses of some Nigerians were raided and valuable belongings taken by the forces.
