Foundation enrolls 40 orphans in Yobe community to schools

A charity foundation in Yobe state known as ‘Lawan Mustapha Foundation’ has enrolled 40 orphans and vulnerable children drawn from Goniri community of Yobe state in schools.
According to a press release issued to our correspondent by the executive director of the foundation, Malam Lawan Mustapha on Sunday, the children were sent to their various schools last week.
He explained that the children were registered into three primary schools namely; Central Primary School Goniri, Afunori Primary School and Malam Bello Boarding Primary School all in Goniri village of Gujba local government of the state.

“Last week, through our foundation, Lawan Mustapha Foundation, we have enrolled 40 orphans and vulnerable children that were out of school into primary schools.
“There are many of such orphans in that community as it is one of the major hideouts of terrorists. So, we need support from the public to enroll more in schools.
“Special thanks to our donor, Mr. Ezenwa Okoro, for the financial support he provided to us to execute this project,” he said.
According to him, Goniri is a community that was displaced when insurgent Boko Haram invaded in 2014 but were repelled in 2016 by the Nigerian army and local vigilantes. He added that people have started returning to the area, hence the need for provision of interventions by corporate organisations.
