A yet-to-be identified number of officers of the Nigerian Police on Friday have been reportedly killed following an attack by gunmen in Anambra State.
The killing took place in Ekwulobia in the state as reported by POLITICS NIGERIA quoting an eyewitness.

The police officers were shot dead after their patrol van was battered with bullets by the gunmen.
The motive of the attack is yet unknown as footage made available to the medium indicates that the attack was sudden and a heavy shootout ensued.
This is coming one week ahead of the state’s governorship election scheduled for November 6, 2021.
The South-East in recent months has been witnessing incessant attacks and killing of innocent lives by suspected members of THE proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and their security outfit, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
