My ultimate ambition is to be Madakin Zazzau or Magajin Garin Zazzau – Nuhu Bamalli
From Saleh INUWA with Agency Report
The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli in an interview with BBC revealed that he has a dream in life to succeed his late father as Magajin Garin Zazzau or Madakin Zazzau.
When late Dr Shehu Idris the immediate past Emir of Zazzau died, the current Emir revealed that he did not put up serious effort to be the next Emir because he is not only a prince, his only wife is one of the daughters of the late Emir, so at that point, he only prayed for a peaceful transition and gave his full support to whoever God chose to be on the throne.
“I was serving as an ambassador outside the country when our former Emir died, people started calling me to know my position on the succession, but in most cases, I told them to let the decision of Almighty Allah prevail, I know that my father had a burning ambition to be Emir of Zaria, but up to the time he died, God did not make it possible for him to realize his ambition.
“So it was my desire for peace to continue to reign in Zazzau Emirate, and I am ready for any position that God may give me, and even if I was not given any position, I can continue my ambassadorial job as God may have it, two plus two has given us four, so I was somehow nominated by the Kingmakers subsequently, Governor Nasiru El-Rufai approved their choice and I was made the Emir of Zazzau.
“I have nothing to say than to thank God for making me to be the Emir and to appreciate the effort of Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, and some powerful friends I have outside the state, that pushed my candidature without my knowledge, but all in all, God has the final say.
“He is the one that finally chose me as the Emir, I also use my position to compensate some people who assisted us through prayers and other means for the transition to be smooth and peaceful”.
