Eight prophets on Sunday have reportedly died after they were overpowered by the river currents in Zimbabwe.

According to reports, the prophets were in the river Mazowe River performing a ritual to select a baptist when the “holy stick” they were with fell into the deep waters of the river in Rushinga, Mashonaland Central Province, Zimbabwe.

It was said that the prophets fell into a trance during their annual Passover ceremony and stampeded into the river, resulting in their drowning.
