The statement reads in part: “the government has viewed with concern over the rampant cases of missing teenagers, aged people, alongside kidnappings, the government will not condone these rude behaviours, and it will deploy all necessary security devices to contain the situations.”

It added that “the government has taken stern security measures through the enforcement of working synergies amongst security formations to ensure the safety of lives and properties of its citizens, among other security measures such as constant patrol, stop and search in strategic locations in achieving the desire objectives.”

The statement enjoined members of the public to be security conscious at all times in exposing the hideouts of criminals, and any form of criminality or reporting any unknown faces to the nearest security outfits for prompt actions as effective security was a collective responsibility which calls for a holistic approach, and commitments of all and sundry.

“The present security challenges we are facing in the country calls for community participation, as it needs a holistic approach for its total elimination, for us to boast of a free crime society,” it added.

The statement further stated that the government had directed all its relevant organs and security formations and they are working assiduously to ensure that lives and properties of the citizenry are duly protected from any threat of aggression, for a peaceful living.
