Badaru snubs Ganduje during project commissioning in Jigawa

Story from Dahiru SULEIMAN, Dutse

Governor Badaru and his executives have snubbed Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje during his visit to Jigawa state to commission two major projects constructed under his philanthropist group, the Ganduje Foundation.

Badaru’s absence was linked to indifference in the political ideology of Ganduje’s support of Tinubu’s presidential ambition under the tenets of the ruling APC.

Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar snubbed the visiting governor when the latter came to formally commission a multi-million naira Islamiyya school and women centre in Malam Madori local government council of the state.

Ganduje launched the two projects through his foundation popularly known as Ganduje Foundation, which has built both the school and women centre in Malam Madori with a view to enhancing religious education and address the issue of Almajiri syndrome in Jigawa.

During his visit to Jigawa State, which wasn’t attended by any government official, Ganduje also launched free eye treatments targeting more than 2,000 people in the state.

The free eye treatment was also sponsored by Ganduje Foundation to enable the less privileged to have access to the needed eye medical treatment in the state.

The conspicuous absence of the Jigawa State Governor and other top government officials might not be unconnected to the APC national politics where the two neighbouring governors belong to two different political camps.

According to Suleman Musa, an APC stalwart in Malam Madori, “We were not surprised by Governor Badaru’s absence at the occasion because you know Governor Ganduje belongs to Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential aspirant team while Jigawa Governor belongs to another team.”

During the Ganduje visit, the Emir of Hadejia, Dr Adamu Abubakar Make led traditional rulers to receive the Kano Governor and celebrate the good gesture.

While contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Jigawa state Ministry of Education, Comrade Wasilu Ibrahim said that the permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Hajiya Safiya Muhammad was sent to represent the commissioner at the occasion.
