After 4 months, Boko Haram frees Yobe protocol officer, friend

After four months in captivity by Boko Haram insurgents, Ali Shehu Mai Lalle, Yobe State protocol officer has been freed.

Mai Lalle was freed alongside his friend, Mustapha, according to The Nation quoting a source.

“Our man Mai Lale is now safe in the hands of his family,” the source said.

Mai Lalle with his friend were abducted with two soldiers on Maiduguri/Damaturu road on July 24, 2021 but unfortunately, the soldiers were executed two days after.

There are unconfirmed reports that a heavy ransom was paid to secure the duo’s freedom but no family member, friends or associates was willing to talk about this.
