Gunmen kill retired Air Force officer, Muhammad Maisaka, in Kaduna

Muhammad Maisaka, a retired AVM Officer was reported killed by unknown gunmen alongside his grandson, at his residence in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna.

It was gathered that the 27-year-old grandchild, Mohammed Musa, who is a serving Airman, is his grandfather’s orderly.

The deceased recently developed a stroke and he has been in and out of the country to seek medical care before the incident.

ASP Muhammad Jalige, the Command’s Public Relations Officer of the state,  confirmed the incident on Tuesday, in Kaduna.

Mr Jalige, who said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, also saw his gateman sustaining an injury from the attack.

He said when the information was received; the Commissioner of Police, Mudassiru Abdullah directed the Divisional Police Officer and the Area Commander to the scene.

“The corpse has been deposited to the hospital and the gateman has also been rushed to the hospital for treatment,” he said while revealing details of the incident would be made available soon.

Also confirming the incident according to Daily Trust the deceased’s wife, Hajiya Fatima Maisaka, said the gunmen did not take anything from the house.

“They only came into the parlour and killed them both without taking any of our belongings. In fact, they left our phones with us.”

The deceased, who before his death was the MD of MSK specialist Hospital Makarfi Road Rigasa, left behind his wife, children and aged mother.

Meanwhile, 20 women travelling from Giwa to Zaria in Kaduna State were adopted by bandits.

Comrade Shehu Sani in a statement expressed his disappointment over the kidnapping even though the state government has removed network services in the state partially, it’s better for security to be restored he said.
