The Kano State Police Command says it has arrested an 18-year-old Sabitu Ibrahim, popularly known as “Aljan”, a notorious armed robber who has been terrorising some parts of the state.
DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa made this known on Sunday.
Aljan before his arrest was said to be in the police wanted list.
Aljan who is from Kaburma, Yan Daddawa, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State was in possession of a Tricycle with Reg. No. GRR77QA and KAROTA No. KMC 1106 at the time of his arrest.

According to the police after their “investigation, the suspect confessed to have conspired with one other person, attacked a Tricyclist at Dorayi Quarters Kano by using a cable wire, attempted to strangle him to death, but he escaped with serious neck injury while they made away with his Tricycle which was found in the possession of the suspect.
“Discreet investigation also led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Abdullahi Suleiman, of Gwale Quarters, Kano and Abubakar Muhd, 21 years old, of Hausawa Quarters, Kano.
“The Suspects confessed to have bought parts of the robbed Tricycle from Aljan, and another Tricycle with Reg. No. FGE212QX and KAROTA No. 4636 KMC was found in their possession.”
“The police added that sustained Puff-Adder Operations conducted led to the arrest of 31-year-old Muhd Saidu, of Gobirawa, Yan Yashi, Kano, 35-year-old Abdullahi Tahir of Kofar Ruwa Quarters, Kano, five Motorcycles suspected to be stolen were recovered from them. On investigation the suspects confessed that the Motorcycles were stolen.
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, C P Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko urged residents to report incidences to the nearest police station and not to take laws in to their hands.
The police noted that rigorous Patrol and raids of criminal hideouts will continue throughout the State to complement “Operation Puff Adder”.
