NUBASS cancels presidential election over rancour

The 2021 national convention committee of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) has cancelled the result of the presidential election over what it called ‘commotion’ caused by the agents of some aspirants during the counting of the votes.

Chairman of the convention committee Comrade Abdulkadir Salisu Shehu disclosed this in a press release issued to Neptune Prime correspondent yesterday.

He said the elections took place on Saturday where all eight new officials emerged adding that the committee however saw reason to cancel the election for the office of the president pending when a fresh one will hold.

“The national convention of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) national headquarters took place at multipurpose indoor sports hall Bauchi, Bauchi state.

“According to the constitution of NUBASS national headquarters article 4, 2010 as amended, the executive council of the union shall consist of all the elected officers of the union referred to as the national executive council (Exco).

“In view of the above, the following names have contested, returned elected and declared winners of the 2021 NUBASS national convention. They are Saleem Adamu Danbaba as national vice president I, Zainab Abdullahi Dass, national vice president II, Shafi’u Musa Laden, national secretary-general, Abdullahi Mu’azu, national assistant secretary-general, Hafsat Ahmad Jikar, national treasurer, Ibrahim Lawan Dansarki, national public relations officer and Aliyu Musa as national director of social”. The statement reads in parts.
