“My reason for returning to acting after many years” – Maryam Jankunne

One of the pioneer members of the Kano Hausa Based Film Industry, Kannywood, Maryam Abubakar Jankunne has announced her return to full time acting after quitting the Industry in 2008.
In 2008 she got married to a former manager of People’s Bank in Abuja and the marriage lasted for many years, it was blessed with children but later Maryam separated from her husband and returned to Kano State.
When she returned to Kano, many producers and directors approached her to feature in their films but she insisted that she would not go back to the Industry again, and instead joined the campaign train of Engineer Kabiru Yusuf Abba Gida Gida. Maryam is also into the buying and selling of software.
But recently, Maryam announced that she is going back to acting as it is the only way that she would again be remembered by her fans, while she would also continue making money as she is open to other businesses like commercials from companies.
A reliable source who spoke with Neptune Prime’s correspondent alleged that Maryam is only returning back to the Industry so that she can continue her affairs with her former lover, Sani Danja, who is now into a series of film production, photography, music and television commercials.
