Story from Haruna YUSUF, Abuja

Mrs Hadiza Alhassan.

She said “I was at home when my phone rang on that day and when I received the call, I was told that my son Isiaka has been shot dead by the police.

According to her, the police found him (Isiaka) at his friend’s house at Old Kwata, Suleja and was gunned down.

When Neptune Prime sought to find out the reason behind the killing of the 34-year-old man from Mrs Alhassan, she narrated thus:

“My son had a business transaction with a man that goes by the name Kingsley Okpara, who bought a house from Isiaka at the rate of 1.8 million nairas.

“Isiaka couldn’t hand over the house document to Okpara, neither did he return his money to him. So, Kingsley decided to file a report to the police. The police traced him to where he was and shot him”, she alleged.

All efforts to speak with Okpara proved abortive as at the time of this report.

Hassan Taye, an eyewitness of the incident gave his own side of the story to Neptune Prime.

He said, “I was at the front of our house when I heard a gunshot just behind our building. A few seconds later, I saw security personnel running into their car. I went there and saw a man lying down with gunshot wounds on his chest and struggling for breath, so we decided to carry him to the roadside for quick intervention but before we could get to the road, he had given up the ghost.”

Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relation Officer (PRO) when contacted, said that the police are investigating the matter and when they are done, they will revert to the public.
